Friday Night Drinks

When I was 13 years old I went on a trip to the city and to dinner at a fashionable restaurant at the time, I vividly remember ordering a non-alcoholic Mint Julep which I thought was terribly grown up and sophisticated. I love mint and sugar in drinks (Im a Mojito fan too) and feel they are the perfectly refreshing on a warm day. The porch of one of these Southern mansion would be a lovely place to enjoy the early evening and I would like to be wearing one of these pretty minty dresses. Happy Friday!

Mint Julep
Mint Leaves
Bourbon
Granulated Sugar
Shaved Ice
Muddle mint leaves and sugar, add to chilled glass with shaved ice, pour in dash of bourbon and top with more shaved ice.

  1. I really enjoyed Mojitos when I visited Cuba, Maiden (what a great place). I always associate Juleps with Tennessee Williams and old colonial porches like your photos.
