The advice given to drivers on country Australian roads is not to swerve if confronted with wildlife on the road due to the danger it presents to the driver. I always battle with this advice as my first instinct is to try to avoid hitting any animal on the road. Last week a solitary parrot decided to stand his ground and speeding along at 110kms I was distressed to hear the sickening thump as I flew past. This image is in honor of this very Pretty Polly.
My daughter has Lorikeets in her Queensland garden (probably everyone does). They eat ALL her fruit. They sound like a pain in the neck!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel, Maiden. I love parrots... you murderer. (only joking)
