Friday Night Drinks

Tonight's drink of choice is a Long Island Iced Tea. It is a warm afternoon here and I am imagining sitting out in the garden sipping on an ice cool drink. I think one of these floral dresses would be perfectly suitable! Happy Friday!

Tim Walker

I recently stumbled across these slightly offbeat, very beautiful and incredibly creative images from UK photographer Tim Walker. I am adding his book, aptly titled 'Pictures', to my Christmas list. I will post more of his work over the coming weeks.

The 40s

I love the 1940s inspired feel of these 'underwear as outerwear' shots for the September 2009 edition of W magazine.

Japan

On a recent trip to Japan I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a working Geisha hurrying between appointments in the Pontocho in Kyoto. I love these images from the film Memoirs of a Geisha and the beautiful Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi who played the leading role.

Mother Love

My mum is one of the most stylish women I know. She always looks incredibly effortless and well put together. A quick flick through her wardrobe reflects her love of black and white prints. From the black and white swirl print slim cut pants she wore in the late 90s to the gorgeous beaded striped dress she wore to a recent family wedding, her bold choices are always teamed with something elegant so the overall effect is stylish and appropriate. I think she will love the images (above). If I can age as gracefully and beautifully as she is I will be very happy!

Sea Foam

These beautiful shades of green and blue conjure up images of the sea. I love the detail on the neckline of the Escada dress (second last image) and the icy blue which contrasts so beautifully with Grace Kelly's cool blonde (last image). I very rarely wear these colours but love to see how stunning they can look on others.

Friday Night Drinks

My drink of choice tonight is a Kir Royale. When I was at studying at university I worked in a charming French bistro and at the end of a long shift we would with sit down with a Kir Royale and baguettes with French butter. I think this Matthew Williamson dress would be perfect to wear too!

The White Party

I have my first festive season party coming up very soon and the theme for the event is 'The White Party', needless to say I am frantically trying to find something gorgeous to wear that doesnt look too bridal. Any one of these dresses above would be perfect!
